It's pretty amazing to hear about all of you again. I doubt I'm well remembered here, but for what it's worth I start my final year of Sixth Form in September, with an aim to study Mathematics at Cambridge or LSE the following year. I think I remember you Mithlomion; was it you who ran a warez site ...

This forum is a school. A school that teaches people. What do we teach people? We teach people that we are better. You will learn to cower before us and fear us. We will smash you into the ground, shove our shoes into your mouth, make you clean the shit and dirt off of them with your teeth, use you...

Decent torrents for vb6 are quite scarce actually, either they are in obscure file formats, loaded with bloatware or just portable versions.

Posting links is generally considered not to be against the law. Hosting is. But yeah, most forums have this rule, we'll have to live with it. The recent Pirate Bay trial came out with a guilty verdict despite them not hosting the files, just posting links. Admittedly, the judge didn't have a clue ...

As Beres said, you need Visual Basic 6 to open and compile those .vbp files. Microsoft has discontinued sale of VB6, however you might be able to pick a copy up on Ebay. Of course there are other methods, but as far as I remember it is against the rules here to post links to them. It's again...

I'm fairly sold on Dx8 to be honest

Also, a benefit to .NET, I believe that people running Linux systems (This might just be limited to Debian-based Distros, not entirely sure) can use .NET applications using the Mono Framework. Useful for me anyway.

I refuse to move on to Windows 7 till at least SP2.

Obviously there are going to be limitations to a portable version. I remember reading somewhere that is something to do with the components? Anyway, has anyone actually used it with Mirage to any great success? (I have googled this by the way, it's basically just a load of people going BAWWW ILLEGAL...
