If you have an idea, chances are pretty high that someone else has had it as well at least once before. :P An idea is different than actually doing it. And doing it successfully is different as well. :3 People have tried to fly throughout recorded time, but it didn't actually happen until 1783. (Ho...

Using Giaken's clipping code, I'm trying to modify it a bit to work with Advocate/Matt's dynamic maps version of MS4. The X clipping works fine as: ' Is player's X more than max map values..? If X + (DDSD_Sprite(Sprite).lWidth / 12) > MAX_MAPX * 32 + 32 Then With rec .Right = .Right - ((Map.MaxX / 2...

I started using miragesource 3.0.3 shortly after leaving PW-based games. 3.0.7 wasn't out yet. >.>; Making games was just a high-school hobby for me back when I was fourteen.

First project was Dragon Realm Online--a game that had around 10~14 active players each night at peak hour.

I think quite a few of us are here to learn. Even from these advertisements, ideas can begin and be utilized in a different form in other games and engines.

You'd have to be pretty badass to block with a shield while readying a bow in your hands, so yeah, makes sense.

True. Perhaps for those who do go with plan A, a system of "traps" could be used to temporarily bind a target in place, or to just force them to think for a few seconds on a way to maneuver out of the trap without getting harmed. Either way, those few seconds can make or break the differen...

I honestly prefer method A, and I'm sure there are methods to alter the speed of the damaging projectile depending on the weapon type. For instance, a crossbow bolt would generally be shot faster than an arrow. By having faster attacks with a ranged weapon, you can increase the chance of your target...

One problem I did notice was that the map name doesn't draw properly--this causes it to just stay where it was on the original sized map. I fixed it by changing: ' Draw map name Call DrawText(TexthDC, DrawMapNameX, DrawMapNameY, Map.Name, DrawMapNameColor) To: ' Draw map name Call DrawText(TexthDC, ...

It'll inspire others in the community for ideas in their own projects, as well as bring about a chance of allowing others to mingle with you and this game more freely. From there, they can regis...

I was going to write in seamless for MS4, but this works a ton better since you don't have to make excess maps for filling in the black spots.
