END_CHAR in MS signals the end of a packet. Add something like END_CHAR to your packets.
END_CHAR is defined in one place as just one character, it's a string constant.. right click on it and click define

I realise this is not a problem in MS, but I like to make winsock applications, And this is really bothering me! Messages join and what would have once been "Account in use!" becomes "AccoSomeone is registering lol!unt in use!" Anyone know how I can have the data not combind after it's been sent? I taught myself VB by looking at codes on planetsourcecode.com, And things created out of MS as a base. Thanks, Dragoon (Sorry if this is the wrong place, It's the only place I saw that looked half-appropriate!) |

Remember to use characters to symbolise the end of packets so if your using a buffer or something your apple to disguish the end of a packet. And it looks like that a message is being placed right in the middle of whats meant to appear, so check through to see if its the packets actually combining and not just an error in the code |

Well, what if it adds data on the end of the packet? I've tried vbcrlf, But if the data is being added to a label or text box, It just shows it on the next line.. Which is good for the chat, But not the labels. Also, If the client gets "Monkey" and "ô¿ô" to show the end packet, The data from the server would still be behind the ô¿ô, And it would be lost. GMail, allowing uber fast replies. |
