Weird quirk keeps popping up from time to time, and I've not been able to narrow down the cause or how to fix it. from time to time my server "forgets" the tiles that are saved in a map file. NPC's, map name, map moral are all there, but tiles and the attributed on the tiles (blocked, key, door, etc.) are all erased. I have no idea how it happens, or how to reproduce it. Sometimes it happens on a client that has no maps yet made, sometimes it happens in a client with already made maps, sometime it even happens in my IDE environment as I'm working with the code. restarting the server, recompiling the server, etc. don't seem to cause this, as I have done this and still been able to view the maps. I've just recently been looking at the binary files with a hex editor to make sure the contents stay the same, but I need to wait for another incident to happen to compare it with what I've already seen. any help? |
