okay this might sound kinda stupid.but idk.... in my game, i want shadows..but i dont want the shadow to be black under neath..any way to make my shadow transparent when it goes against the ground tiles? so u can see through the shadow? |

It's called "Alphablending" and it is a pretty slow thing to do in DirectX7. To do it in real time is asking a lot... There is an example of it here: http://valkoria.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... e76049e9fd There is a OCX (or DLL?) out that can do it a bit quicker... but I don't know the name |

Or you can use DX8. It's veeery fast but it takes a while to understand and change MS to dx8. |

Or you can just do it the easy way and use a black/transparent checkerboard. The results look just fine and there is no extra/slow programming. |

The new Essence will have alpha blending. |
