Well if hes doing it to learn it doesnt really matter what it is... as long as he changes stuff and learn how things work

The best way to learn how to make a game is to make a game.

Stop arguing for the sake of arguing. He gave his reason for making the engine.

If anyone wants to make an engine or a game I recommend mirage source because

[list=]With mirage you can do tutorials for custom stuff
With mirage you can add stuff you want instead of playerworlds and xtreme worlds being a compiled source and elysium source also being an engine with alot of things already added. Sometimes people want to add the stuff they want like...Party - etc...

What im basicly saying is with mirage you can do everything you want and have more fun! :

Mirage doesn't need another engine. There are more orpg engines off of mirage then thier are games. A game can be just as good of a learning project as an engine, and people can actually play it.

Dude, it's his decision, who are you to try to get him to change his mind? Christ, it's good for people to go for what they want, rather than be told what goals they should have, by people. If he wants to do it to learn, so be it. That's what I'm doing.

Who are you to change my mind? He doesnt have to listen to me, but I gave him my advice. Why can't you all leave it at that?

Are you trying to decide what he should do? Sounds like you do. It's a great way to start by making a engine, heck I did it.

Its just my advice, he doesn't have to do what I say, and I really don't care if he does. I am sorry if I sounded too commanding for this community, but it really was not intended that way.
