False Prophet Online is geared more towards the older generation of RPG players. Elements that were loved in older games, as well as some from newer style games. FPO focuses more on commercial style than hobby style.

well, as you said, there's not much to do(slight understatement)

made a fighter character, with as much crap as i could worn.

got a run-time error though, "subscript out of range" when i was killed by a red slime on the map after the tunnel.

other than that all looks good, couldn't figure out how to fish if thats at all possible yet. and it was a pain to have to look at the message box to see if a trade had been successful or the combat was going. might try at least adding in some sound so we know :)

There's no where to fish yet and no way to get ahold of a fishing rod and bait.

I'll have to attempt to recreate the problem you had when you got the RTE.. Step by step please?

There's some things I can't fully test on my own, or don't think to test. Which is why the client is posted. :P

I'm not sure why you got the error with being killed, were you doing anything else at the time?

alright,

made a character-fighter

started bought some gear, and went out exploring

died a couple times each time buying new gear

went through the tunnel but a blue slime was blocking the door, so i attacked him and ran backwards to get him away from the door, then ran past him when i could.

made a quick run through of the next map and went into the one what didn't have anything in it, when back and started running again

then i ran into a red slime, didn't attack just ran into him, it killed me in one hit, and gave me the RTE, and also showed a really wierd map in the background.

Download the new client, it's fixed.

What it is, is you were trying to move when you were warped to the next map. There's a lot of these kind of bugs in MS4. The weird map you saw, was because the player warped to the new map, but got the tileset number for the old map and you seen a flash of the new map, with the old map's tiles. That's all it was. It's fixed though.

Seriously, whats up with people not knowing how to balance a game, even a demo. I tried to kill 1 monster and died vs him. Full equiped, and then I closed the game down :) make it possible to kill 1 monster please.

If you can't kill a Green Slime, you shouldn't play the game. It's easy to kill them. Not my fault if you got killed by a Blue Slime or a Red Slime. Monsters do get harder as you progress, you know.

i don't like the idea of dropping your gear after a monster kills you, also i found a bug after i died and dropped my gear i went and re picked it up and now when i click use item on the first item in my inventory it equips the 2nd item, also i'm curious what kind of maps are you using?(scrolling,seamless,sliding,etc)

anyways besides that it'd like to say that it's lookin good and i look forward to playin it in the future

The item dropping is default Mirage. I've not gotten around to changing it to a chance system, instead of always dropping. If you checked the site, you'd see that I have Dynamic Maps. As for the equipping, is it by chance that you didn't click on the first item BEFORE you clicked use? I don't think it's been changed yet from listindex + 1, so it always goes to the second item. I'll look into it and get it fixed in the next release.

Just tried it out. GFX are nice and the mapping is pretty good. Has tons of potential.

What class? Attacking is based on your speed, so obviously, Thieves have a higher hit chance. Mystics have the lowest (for melee), and Fighters are in the middle.

Hit chance for Magic, is based on a random number between your magic stat and 100. (That's also how melee hit chance is. Just with your speed, not your magic) As long as the result is above 50, you're good.

Lol. Wonderful. I'll login on my thief and have a look at it. When I was testing, I only missed about a third of the time. Which really isn't bad, for level 1..

[EDIT]

I just logged in on my thief. I was able to kill 2 green slime, before I only had 10% health left. I didn't miss all that often. I suggest you delete your character and create a new thief. See if that helps at all.

The next update will have a few bugs fixed, items can have a bonus on any of the 4 stats, up to 10 points. Later on, I'll use this as a base for an enhance system, where players can use enhance stones and have a chance to add certain enhancements to the item.

Hello Matt, i have to say i like what you've done so far. The walking is smooth, the sprites are nice, and the mapping is incredible. Though i think the start point should be placed differently, i wanted to say great job, and keep up the good work! ;D.
