This post may sound very nooby, as we actually havnt got much done yet, except hired a few staff but oh well, here goes. Me & a few other people are working on a project called "Eternal Online". We've got big plans and ideas for this game which we aim to achieve. So far, we have a muscian, 2 website designers and a very good pixel artist =]. But we need more people. We're hoping to actually put the game in java, which would be awesome, since it'll be much harder to hack and steal resources from and many more people would play it. Anyways, at the moment, we're hiring: Programmers - (If they want to use the mirage source to build the game, thats fine and i'll give full credit to MS, (As I would to everyone who has contributed to this project) or they may build it from scratch, completely up to the programmers. 3 or 4 programmers may be good, for fast progress, plus, it would give a chance for the programmers to teach each other stuff that they didnt know before. Website Designers - As I said before that we have two, I dont think they are experienced enough to make the site looking as professional as I want it to be. But it would be awesome if we could get some programmers to make a professional, custom looking website. Flash and lots of colors and a "Fantasy" type of theme would be great! Java Programmers - Someone who can program in Sun Java and write Javascript is essential for this game to be in java, which is what I really want. I hope someone can actually do this and applies for this role, As it would really help this project a lot. Spriters, Tilers and Artists - Essential for this game, we have a spriter already, but we need more. I want this game to have custom graphics, as rubbish, ripped gfx is just a let down for players. Anyone who can draw anime can apply, it would be very useful to spice up the GUI and website with some anime characters drawn, resembling to the game, catching player's eyes and giving them an "Adventure" Feel. A server Host - I cant host servers anymore im afraid, so someone who can host 24/7 is essential,. You dont have to apply if it means restless nights, i dont want to disturb your beauty sleep. Thats about it really. Will update to show what sprites actually look like when my photobucket stops being a homo. |

Deleted other 4 threads. Deranous wrote: But we need more people. If you actually believe any of that, you're not cut out to make a game. Go learn more first. |

Doesn't matter what language you program in. Vulnerability depends the stability of that code that you have written. |

Err, may I point out Java is actually the easiest compiled language at the moment to reverse engineer / decompile... And when you say you want to 'put' it into Java? Hows your object orientation? Going with Java's new native rendering stuff? I'd suggest so as its DirectX support is horrible, the garbage collector is shite at dealing with it ~.~ |

Java would be alright, I think... if you could compile an EXE (still cant figure that out... can you even do it?!) (I cant figure out how to make a JRE yet either...) You could make the game browser-based, that would be neat. Definatly use heavy object orientation. SDL has a port for Java |

SDL has a port for Java You compile .Jar files and call the main class with an exe if you want it to be windows friendly ^^ Dave, install Eclipse its the best Java IDE evaaaar As for browser based, just package it into an Applet (which is basically an option at compile time ^_^) |

With ActionScripts capabilities you could write a Flash version of Mirage, and write some back-end stuff for MySQL. |

I do use eclipse. We run the program within the IDE in classes, and have never covered using it otherwise. Never even covered the debugger ;-; |
