Yeah, I still got to work on the shading of the sign because of the perspective.
The map is going to be drawn onto the screen through DirectX 8 surfaces and then objects like the signs and trees are going to be rendered
onto it so I have no problem with doing fringes. The map itself isn't even halfway done yet, I just wanted to show the progress of it. Its not
supposed to be top notch artwork, I just want it to be full of life so the players themselves can feel the life from it.

Recreated building! Design by Kajaman I believe. - his original work

Running animation.. still needs alot of work.

Oh god. What did you do to NarutoRealm?

The place looks horrible.. you should revert to NR's old ways and use RMXP tiles.
And that running animation looks fine.
Hes running towards me wanting to hug my legs.

How about pointing out what's wrong with it?

And yes I plan on redoing the running animation.

Everything but the base looks cheap because its done with photoshop blending effects, and all the textures like the tree appear to be ripped out straight from the anime.

As I said last night when you asked my opinion. I like it. It's different than most games. Only a graphics artist would see things like what Rory pointed out. Players won't see that. They'll see something they typically like. Afterall, you should aim to please the masses, not one or two people. ;)

I like the GFX a lot, in my opinion they seem prfessional yet enjoyable at the same time.

Thanks you guys :)

Currently working on 3 NPCS just for this map itself.

An old man, a kid, and a bakery stall.

Looking good man. I'm surprised there's so many Naruto fans here. Anyways, can't wait to play (I'm a bit of a fan of the manga)

Looks familiar. :P

I'm glad you're reviving my old project, but seriously.. drop the base. The person who made it came over to Nin the other day and said he'd seen it around in all sorts of places. We were laughing at how poor it was compared to his recent work.

Hah, no it's fine, I personally like it. And all the paperdoll and items, there isn't no turning back.
I love it. Since it was made especially for NarutoRealm. why give it to waste? I also spent tons of time pixeling the female base from scratch so I will never turn back, also the artwork and bases are in process of copyright.

"The artwork is simple yet enjoyable" Is what I've heard twice, I don't need anyone to tell me what's terrible. The world that
will be created will be up to expectations from our players. Comparison doesn't beat enjoyment but I honestly thank you for handing it over, Robin.

NR is making it's turn right now. I'm currently talking to 2 amazing graphics artists from Pixel Joint and they
also can work with those bases.

Coming soon. :) - http://www.NarutoRealm.net

The game engine is coming along fine as well. An alpha should be out there in no time.

Some updates!

I revised the female base alot! Fixed her hands and the way they swing. Finishing up the female Mist Shinobi body. The equipment types will be body, head, feet, left hand, right hand, gourd, garment.
Image

Then male Mist -> Leaf -> Sand -> Sound. I should be done with all that within 2 weeks. (That's just walking too.)
Alpha won't contain attack animations, just walking :p. Beta WILL contain running and attacking (jutsu, 2H weapon attack, ground smashing) But yeah, can't wait to get ingame with all of it :)

Player attributes
Seal Knowledge, Chakra Flow, Force, Speed, Stamina, Intelligence, Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu.
: Taijutsu - Hand-to-hand combat
: Ninjutsu - Relies on Chakra, basically a spell type.
: Genjutsu - An advanced Ninjutsu used to confuse the opponent.

Jutsu Leveling
You don't just attack an enemy to level Jutsu. Using certain Jutsu will level/experience
that type of Genjutsu. For an example, I use an illusion Jutsu.. that levels Genjutsu.

Main Attribute Leveling
So how will force, speed, intelligence, etc. be leveled? One quick way will be that
you use certain type of Jutsu. Taijutsu will level force and speed. Genjutsu will level
intelligence and stamina. Ninjutsu will level chakra flow and stamina.

Poison [P]
Poison will add a whole different way of fighting and creation too. Players will have to find the right
ingredients to make poison. The higher the poison level, the less chance it can be cured. Poison will be able to
be put on any weapon making it harsh for an opponent in battle. This will be a way of making money since high
level poison requires a high medical level. At the same time players can create anti-poison [AP], and put it on armor to protect yourself, but at the same time put poison on your weapon. Cool eh?

Hairstyles
There will be tons of hairstyles to pick from. Each hairstyle may have a different headband style too :)
I only have like 3 done myself so far. Once my partner gets back from vacation, he'll be working on his assigned work.. so it'll fasten up a bit.

Puppets
I'll be introducing puppet weapons very soon. Sounds lame right? That's probably cause you haven't watched the anime. Puppets will add a different type of long range battle type, it's basically a fusion of close range but long range at the same time. I plan to make it so you can only BUILD puppets, and upgrade them with instructions.
SPOILER: (click to show)

NR WILL NOT DIE. Not again.

I decided that I'm going to finish ALL of the artwork before I touch any language or start programming again.

Yeah, I suppose it's the best way. Maybe in the future some god like programmer will volunteer after seeing the mounts of graphics I have done. *wink

So far I've got down running animations done. I'm almost done with 2H weapon attack animation for the male base! It looks awesome so far, I should be completely done with it in two days. Prepare yourselves :)

New hairstyles! All of them took about an hour total, can't believe it was so fast. I've only did 3 male hairstyles, but I'll post them when I have 5. Which should be tommorow.
Did some quick recolors after the original blond :)
Image

Here's a small preview of the extent-size weapon attacking standing frame.
Image
That's the standing frame of attacking, so it differs from the normal standing frame.
In-game wise it will only show if your fighting, after the attack animation. After a few seconds of
not fighting, you'll return to normal standing frame. I couldn't be able to show the attack animation
cause I'm not done with it yet. But he draws the sword from his back into attacking.

Oh and yes it was supposed to be (TWO HANDER attacking) but I've realized ninjas don't use 2 hands
for a weapon, not in any episodes I've watched.

Don't force people to be ninjas. Add a more bulky class that would use two handed weapons.

Eh, can't think of any except there was a warrior type in a movie.

Working on a new website and talking to this guy about buying NarutoRealm.com from him.

but aint naruto all about ninjas u dont have like a knight zerging everything there all ninjas. U could put chakra ninjas, were they specialize in doing chakra spells instead of punching and kicking. Like if they have to go through school or some what, they can specilize in going chakra or melee/chakra or full melee....
