Eh, I tried using it, and when you hit the decimal to bring up the list, everything you used is there, but every .command gives me RTE 5.

I had to add WMP as a component to use it.

I Googled to find a solution, but it seems alot of Vista users can't use it properly.

Ouch. God Vista is annoying. Making me have to go... legally buy it... just to debug my code ><

I just added the component, and use frmMirage.WindowsMediaPlayer.URL = filename it plays automatically, and works the same as yours, allowing normal media player to keep playing.

There's really nothing wrong with Vista. I use it and I've yet to find any big issue with it and Mirage. Course, I don't use this either though. But I'm sure it's a VERY simple work around.

I like Vista.

There's just a few moments where it's like.. @#%^@!

Like that I can't host, and I don't know why.

I haven't tried to host, but even if I can, wouldn't mean you could. I run Vista Ultimate. I'm sure you have Home Basic or Home Premium.

Home premmy.

It even says my post 80 is blocked, when I know it isn't. Also I'm unable to use Nbtstat or any other DOS/port related stuff.

I can't even ping outside my network.

:(

I hosted fine on XP, the second I switched to Vista it died.

/On topic!

In any case, what's the equivalent to like.. Unload Form for a component?
When I close the Client, it leaves a WMP instance running.

I stopped it in gameloop, but it stays regardless.

that's component specific. Check the documentation on it.

Here we are!

I'm back, again, lolz!

Who wants to so totally get this to work on Vista? xD

I don't run a Vista machine, so, I'm sure another Vista developer has found out a fix for it.

Someone share the fix? xD

I used the code from the site, not the download you had Dave.

I know I had to change some things around though, and I had to use parts of your tutorial.

Also, it works fine on my Vista, there was never any error.

EDIT: I misread your post. XD

Yeah, I clicked in the wrong thread by accident like you said. XD

Either way, it works fine in Vista, except the problem I had, which was probably my fault.

This is so much easier than DirectMusic and DirectSound...

Sorry to bump an old topic but I have a question on this.

I've added it, everything works great except when you save the map, it doesn't play the music.
I'm guessing it's because of this line:
Quote:
PlayMusic SaveMap.Music & ".mid"

What if the file is an MP3? I'm using both .mid and .mp3 file extensions, so I need to check both. Should I just add 2 lines?
Quote:
PlayMusic SaveMap.Music & ".mid"
PlayMusic SaveMap.Music & ".mp3"

Post subject:  Re: Media Player Sound Replacement

It seems that if you try to play the same file that played previously, it doesn't work. So if you selected Music18.mp3 in the properties, played it, then saved the map, it wouldn't play that file on the map until a different file was played first, either by changing maps with a different music file or whatever.

WMP isn't good at all...use DirectMusic7 and DirectSound7.

Don't use this unless you're as retarded as I was when I added it xD
