Never listed to a guy named Damien.

There's a newer version, but it's in beta, and I wouldn't suggest updating to it.

There is also a newer version that is not in beta ... But yeah, it does contain some security fixes.

the poison NULL byte vulnerability is fixed in 2.0.22, its quite critical, but since you dont allow uploading avatars here it shouldt matter...

You really should update, William. You're only updated to x.20 (Maybe x.21, not sure).

What the emo one said : Never listen to a guy named Damien.

So.. don't worry about forum's security... this doesn't mean you shouldn't update. But eh, we all love to make useless thread don't we?

phpBB has been used on MS for years, after we had vBulletin, and I've not really seen any major problems with it since. It's fast, easy to use, and user-friendly. Apart from the little annoying spam bots (Which can be eliminated in a number of ways) it's ok.

I dont think he pointed to belier, after that he said he was belier, so dont care about that part.

actually The beta of Phpbb3 is pretty sweet, so far we at benign online have loved using it, and find it way better than phpbb 2, the Admin interface is so much easier but way different from phpbb2.

I suggest upgrading, it is great.

I'd wait until the official release. They said they're going to be writing a proper upgrade script so it's best waiting. There's nothing wrong with the forums at the moment, and if one more mirage source-based engine forum gets wiped for the 1mth time, I'm going to be really pissed off.

So you find that this forum is currently very slow? I seem to find it very fast when loading and posting etc. So there's nothing wrong with the speed.

Going to do the actual updating soon. Forums will be closed for about 10 minutes. Sorry about the inconvenience.

[Edit: 4:28PM EST] Finished updating. Please report any bugs in this topic. ~The PHPBB sessions table was cleared so you were probably asked to log back in. This is normal.~[/edit]

I see no change. Aside from it randomly logging me out.. Which is annoying.

Happened about 10 times now.

What's your browser's name & version?

I am not having this problem so all the information you can give is useful.

Please make sure that when you are logging in the "Log me on automatically" box is checked. If not, you will be logged out when you close your browser.

I have it set like that, and when I say log me out randomly, I mean while I'm checking the forums, it will log me out. It's annoying.

Interesting. . .

Not sure what is causing this but if the problem persists try logging out and then clearing cookies to key2heaven.net (hopefully that will fix the problem)
